We firmly believe that a skilled person will enjoy good fortune and well-being. The employment landscape is rapidly changing, and new job roles are emerging with fast disruption in business models around the globe. In our pursuit to achieve excellence in skill-based education, we are continuously analysing the dynamic trends and training needs in the industry to meet the same through new programs.

Symbiosis Open Education Society decided to be a part of Skill India Mission and established Maharashtra’s first Skills Development University with a vision to provide skill-based education in high growth sectors. SSOU is set up on a sprawling campus in Kiwale located near Pune.  It houses state of the art technical infrastructure, laboratories and learning factories with specialized skill training equipment enabling students to become industry-ready. University offers degree programs in Automobile, Construction and Mechatronics Engineering, Data Science, Beauty and Wellness, Architecture, Retail, Ports & Terminal Management, PGD in Dietetics, PGD in Data Science and skill-based certificate courses.

We have faculty with rich industrial experience and strong association with Volkswagen, SKF, Daikin, Enrich, Pune Metro, L & T, Shoppers Stop to name a few. Our curriculum gives more thrust to practical, skills and internship. Students are required to undergo internship for two months every year in addition to six months of mandatory internship during last year. With this approach we are confident to prepare our students industry ready.

Charudatta Pathak completed his schooling from St Aloysius High School Bhusawal; Master's in Mechanical Engineering with CAD/CAM specialization from L.D. College of Engineering Ahmedabad in year 2000 and Ph.D. from College of Engineering, Pune in year 2011. He has twenty- eight National and International publications and he is also reviewer of international journals of repute. He has received a research grant from Savitribai Phule Pune University (formerly University of Pune) for his Ph.D. work. He has over twenty-one years of teaching experience in which he has taught Operations Research, Manufacturing Processes, Theory of Machines, Production Technology, Machine Design, Machine Drawing and Computer Graphics, CAD / CAM and Automation, Numerical Methods, Numerical Methods in CFD (Shared), Engineering Graphics, Strength of Materials and Dynamics of Machinery at UG level. He is teaching post-graduate classes since 2004 and has taught Finite Element Analysis, Machine Stress Analysis, CAD / CAE, Numerical Methods, Vehicle Dynamics, Optimization Techniques, Automotive Engine Design, Material Science and Mechanical Behaviour of Materials, Fatigue and Fracture Mechanics, Advanced Stress Analysis.

His research interests are in Computational Welding Mechanics and Vehicle Dynamics

Two students have completed Ph. D. under his guidance and currently, three students are working under his guidance.

He has around three years of industrial experience in Tool Room as CNC programmer, CAE experience of FE modelling and durability analysis of various automotive components and substructures like BIW, closures, trim, suspension system, engine casting, casting components of transmission system. He has hands on experience on software ABAQUS, NASTRAN, MSC.Fatigue, ANSA, HYPERMESH, FEMFAT, MATLAB, CATIA V5, IDEAS, NISA, Pro/E, AutoCAD. He has completed several consultancy assignments in design and automation. He has delivered expert lectures in reputed industries and institutes. He is advisor on the research board of ARAI. He has also organized training programs and workshops for teachers and persons from industry. He has established High-Performance Computing Lab for CAE Simulation in 2010 and has received grant of over rupees thirteen lakhs from AICTE in 2014 for its modernization.
