INTRODUCTION

To construct, test & repair DC-DC converter and detect the faults and troubleshoot Power supplies, SMPS, UPS and inverter. A Certificate Course in “SMPS Design, Implementation & Testing” for Diploma / BE in (Electronics, Mech / Auto) students can help them to work as an expert in ‘Power Electronics’ with improved technical and professional skills

CONTENTS

Part I: Theory

  • Topologies – Benefits and drawbacks
  • Topologies – Block diagram and brief explanation Flyback, forward (single and double ended), Half bridge, Full Bridge, Resonant converters (ZVS and ZCS)
  • Topologies – Details SCR based and Flyback
  • Transformers – Brief introduction and Design example

Part II: Lab

  • Simulation software overview PSIM, LT spice, TINA –TI)
  • Components overview and selection procedure
  • Detailed design example – DC-DC Flyback and AC-DC Half Bridge
  • Simulation Example – Flyback
  • PWM generation – analog and digital

Part III:

  • Industry visit
TRAINING METHOD

This five day workshop will be more interactive, resourceful and more oriented towards hands on activities. The faculty will share theory concepts with the help of audio visual Presentation. There will be blend of lectures, team work, exercises and follow-up with Q & A session.
