    Program Details


    Retailing is changing today, and the business environment demands professionals with an ability to learn new skill sets, adapt and think out of the box. Today, an understanding of the complete value chain of the industry has become imperative for jobs at all levels in the sector. Keeping that in mind, the program has been designed in such a way so as to at provide a comprehensive view of retailing,e-commerce,digitization of retail and analysis of the retail environment and exposure to issues and developments in the industry.

    BBA in Retail Management and E-Commerce Management will provide rigorous business and management education as well as functional specialization in Retail Management with special emphasizes on ecommerce and digital technologies. In fact, this program will equip the student with advanced theoretical inputs and also its applications in the business.

    On successful completion of the program, besides a career in the retail sector, this program will also provide a solid foundation for employment in any industry which interfaces with retailers.

    BBA RETAIL AND E-COMMERCE MANAGEMENT offered by Symbiosis Skills and Professional University is a course that develops business acumen and operational expertise in students to manage Retail formats, Brands, Products, Services, Teams, Finance, Marketing, Competition, Customer Relations, Merchandising, Retail Logistics, Retail Supply Chain, Entrepreneurship, Digital Marketing, Online Sales and E-Commerce.

    In the process of the product and services reaching the end customer for the purpose of consumption, many business activities have to be undertaken to ensure seamless functioning and operations. The course trains the students in 360 degree Retail Challenges and prepares the students for job opportunities in Retail Operations – both at front end and back end.

    As a part of the course, the students are trained in the Retail Visual Merchandising lab that has been set up in association with Shoppers Stop on the campus. In this Retail Lab the Retail Faculty members conduct practical classes and train the students in all aspects related to Store Operations.

    Skill development and practical activities are conducted in the Retail Lab covering topics of Visual display, Store façade, Store Layout, Retail fixture and furniture, Merchandise planning and rationalization, Category management, Brand-Product Management, Floor Activities management, Stock Management, Receiving and Issues, Promotion planning and Business analysis.

    Students are assigned tasks to solve retail problems and analyze case studies, problem statements, participate in group discussions, presentations and recommend solutions to retail challenges. As an integral part of the course, all the Skills and Practical activities are graded in the continuous evaluation process by the respective faculty. We also have industry experts who visit for Guest Lectures and also conduct training and workshops for the benefit or the students.

    The Retail Visual Merchandising Lab is one of its kind facility in our University that trains the students in Retail specialization and gives them an exposure to real-life situation in retail. Students also make Market Visits to study the Retail formats and learn the trends of the season and implement their learning in the Retail Lab. Students learn about Retail Store planning, Retail Location, Retail Project requirement, Legal documentation, Franchisee Management and Retail Store Inventory management process. The Retail Lab offers the students the best learning environment and helps them understand Retailing.

    Our Students attend internship program as a part of their course and are successful in implementing what they have learnt in the Retail lab in the work assigned to them during the internship. In short the activities in Retail Lab polishes the students to be valuable and job-ready candidates in the Retail Industry.

    Eligibility


    • Passed XII (10+2) or equivalent course in any discipline from any recognized Board/Council/University with minimum 50% marks for general (open) category and 45% marks for students of reserved category.
    • Candidates are selected based on Personal interview conducted by the University.
    • While deciding the eligibility of the Candidates following procedure shall be adopted-

      (a) The percentage of marks shall be calculated by rounding off to nearest integer. i.e. if the percentage of marks comes out to be 49.50% to 49.99% then it shall be rounded to 50% and if the percentage of marks comes out to be 49.01% to 49.49% shall be rounded to 49% for deciding the eligibility.

      (b) In case the maximum marks in an individual subject is other than 100, the marks will be converted out of 100 for individual subject without rounding, If sum of the converted marks of individual subjects without rounding off works out to be a figure with fraction then fraction up to two decimal places shall only be considered for calculation of percentage of marks considering maximum marks as 300 and, If the percentage comes in fraction, then rounding off shall be done as above to decide the eligibility.

      NRI / International Students


      NRI/International Students -A candidate who has completed XII (10+2) or equivalent examination from any Foreign Board must obtain an equivalent certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). All foreign qualifications need to be verified from Association of Indian Universities (AIU) by the candidate before seeking provisional admission to any program of Symbiosis Skills & Professional University (SSPU). In order to promote international understanding between Indian and Foreign students, SSOU has reserved 5% seats for NRIs/International students in every division.

    NRI / International Students

    NOTE:- *Hostel is optional for Under graduation students.

    Note 1 Academic Fees includes Tuition fees, Regular exam fees, Library books & e-journals, Laboratory fees , Practical and Skills Journal. These fees are refundable according to UGC policy. Backlog Exam Fee shall be charged separately. Medical Fees of Rs. 7,000/- for basic medical facilities on campus are Non-Refundable.

    Note 2

    • Hostel & Mess Fees include Hostel Stay and Mess/Dining charges.
    • Laundry facility is available to student on payment basis.

    Note 3

    • Academic fees shall be increased up to 15% each year as per the University policies during the period of the program at the discretion of the Management.
    • Revised fees will be applicable to new and existing students.

    Other Notes

    • In case a crash course is conducted, a separate fee between Rs.5,000 to Rs.10,000 will be charged. The same shall be notified separately.
    • Nominal fees of Rs.500/- is charged for every non-credit mandatory IDSC course per student.
    • Education loan facility available from nationalised banks
    • Pay per use bus service for city trip for hostel students @ Rs. 100/- per trip (to & fro)

    Discretionary Quota 5% Seats are reserved as Discretionary Quota Seats. Only students with high academic record are considered for Discretionary Quota Seats. The fees for Discretionary Quota Seats will be double the Academic fees for Indian Students to be paid to the University.

    • Start of any academic program is subject to minimum enrolment. In case a program does not commence, student will be refunded entire fees as well as the application form charges.
