    Program Details


    B.Sc program offered by Symbiosis Skills & Open University is first- of- its kind for this sector.

    The program will integrate core technical skills with managerial skills, specifically required by the Beauty & Wellness sector. The program has been designed to provide students a comprehensive understanding of Beauty, Nutrition and Spa.

    The students will be able to effectively and efficiently manage the complete value chain of beauty and spa operations and management. Their work profile includes Salons Spa Directors /Instructors/Educators/Aesthetician/ Beauty advisors/ Consultants/ Makeup Artist/ Hair Stylist / Nail Artist / Hair Colouring specialist etc. The students will also be exposed to areas of nutrition in the fields of weight management, sports nutrition, therapeutic nutrition and wellness coaching. This will allow them to work as Dietician / Nutritionist/ Wellness Coaches/Slimming Manager/Trainers in the chain of Hospitals, Diet Clinics, Slimming Centres, Gyms, Nutraceutical/pharma Company Schools, Colleges and IT companies. The program will also cover subjects such as Natural Science, Anatomy and Physiology, Nutrition and Dietetics, Skin & Cosmetic Science, Aesthetic Treatments, Business Studies, customer service & relations, spa therapies, Entrepreneurship Development & personality development.

    BSc. Beauty and Wellness is a course that skills the students to be trained in all aspects of beauty – hair care, skin care, make-overs, spa treatment, entrepreneurship, salon operations, wellness, nutrition, health care and diet management.

    Symbiosis Skills & Professional University has collaborated with Enrich Salons & Academy as our knowledge partner who have set up a state-of-the-art Training Academy on the University campus to provide students a live environment to work, which is as per the standards of CIDESCO specifications and serves a wide spectrum of skill activities.

    Our Labs gives the students an Excellent opportunity to learn and have hands on experience to Launch their career and convert their passion to profession.

    We Offer beautiful Spa Therapies & holistic Alternative Therapies in our well-equipped labs. The students are also given an opportunity to do internships at various Enrich Salons in Pune & Mumbai and with other Industry Partners.

    The learning is enhanced by the Qualified trainers from Enrich Salons and other prestigious institutes who lead the practical training sessions for the student at the University campus.

    We also take pride in having well-qualified faculty members with national and international experience, having worked for prestigious brands in Beauty and Wellness sector, who train the students to become an Aesthetician, Perfect makeup artists, Hair stylists, Beauty Consultants, Health and Nutrition Advisors, Wellness Consultant, Business Managers, Entrepreneurs, Product Advisors and Spa experts.

    Our students are trained to create ‘a thing of beauty’ which ‘is a joy forever.’

    Eligibility


    • Passed XII (10+2) or equivalent course in any discipline from any recognized Board/Council/University. And
    • Candidates are selected based on Personal interview conducted by the University.

    While deciding the eligibility of the Candidates following procedure shall be adopted-

    (a) The percentage of marks shall be calculated by rounding off to nearest integer. i.e. if the percentage of marks comes out to be 44.50% to 44.99% then it shall be rounded to 45% and if the percentage of marks comes out to be 44.01% to 44.49% shall be rounded to 44% for deciding the eligibility.

    (b) In case the maximum marks in an individual subject is other than 100, the marks will be converted out of 100 for individual subject without rounding, If sum of the converted marks of individual subjects without rounding off works out to be a figure with fraction then fraction up to two decimal places shall only be considered for calculation of percentage of marks considering maximum marks as 300 and, If the percentage comes in fraction, then rounding off shall be done as above to decide the eligibility.

    NRI / International Students


    A candidate who has completed XII (10+2) or equivalent examination from any Foreign Board must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). All foreign qualifications need to be verified from Association of Indian Universities (AIU) by the candidate before seeking provisional In order to promote International understanding between Indian and Foreign students, SSPU has reserved 5% seats for NRIs/International students in every division.

    NRI / International Students

    NOTE:- *Hostel is optional for Under graduation students.

    Note 1 Academic Fees includes Tuition fees, Regular exam fees, Library books & e-journals, Laboratory fees , Practical and Skills Journal. These fees are refundable according to UGC policy. Backlog Exam Fee shall be charged separately. Medical Fees of Rs. 7,000/- for basic medical facilities on campus are Non-Refundable.

    Note 2

    • Hostel & Mess Fees include Hostel Stay and Mess/Dining charges.
    • Laundry facility is available to student on payment basis.

    Note 3

    • Academic fees shall be increased up to 15% each year as per the University policies during the period of the program at the discretion of the Management.
    • Revised fees will be applicable to new and existing students.

    Other Notes

    • In case a crash course is conducted, a separate fee between Rs.5,000 to Rs.10,000 will be charged. The same shall be notified separately.
    • Nominal fees of Rs.500/- is charged for every non-credit mandatory IDSC course per student.
    • Education loan facility available from nationalised banks.
    • Pay per use bus service for city trip for hostel students @ Rs. 100/- per trip (to & fro).

    Discretionary Quota

    5% Seats are reserved as Discretionary Quota Seats. Only students with high academic record are considered for Discretionary Quota Seats. The fees for Discretionary Quota Seats will be double the Academic fees for Indian Students to be paid to the University.

    • Start of any academic program is subject to minimum enrolment. In case a program does not commence, student will be refunded entire fees as well as the application form charges.
